DAISY the Cavalier
We have recently suffered a devastating loss, an unnecessary loss due to neglect and greed. Helen has been hit particularly hard by this loss, this is what she has to say….
I would like to tell you about the beautiful, kind little Daisy, a 4 year old Cavalier who came to us about 10 weeks ago as a very poorly little girl who had been bred from for pretty much all of her short life. Daisy’s illness, Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia, was very advanced. We tried so hard to save her but last night she lost her battle. To say her foster mum and myself are devastated is a massive understatement. Human greed is the reason Daisy got to the stage where she couldn’t be saved and human greed is the reason Rescues like ours are seeing more and more abuse and neglect, not only from breeders but from pet homes as well. Every time we lose a dog like this we lose another piece of ourselves and personally I am getting to the stage where I don’t have much more left to give. If you don’t want your dogs or can’t afford your dogs then do the right thing and hand them over to a reputable rescue before it gets to the stage where we can’t help them.
